Most people like the placing-of-the-crown shots but I prefer the ones that capture the moment when the runner up realizes she didn't win.

Most people like the placing-of-the-crown shots but I prefer the ones that capture the moment when the runner up realizes she didn’t win.

My Sunday morning wish is to hear Seth MacFarlane read the Miss America blurb printed in this morning’s Daily Camera:

“Mallory Hagan won the pageant after tap dancing to James Brown’s “Get Up Off Of That Thing” and answering a question about whether armed guards belong in grade schools by saying ‘we should not fight violence with violence'” – Boulder Daily Camera

Now for your own Sunday morning wish… you’re welcome!

I plan to have this routine down by noon.

Who doesn't admire Iris Apfel?

Who doesn’t admire Iris Apfel? Her photo has been attached to this list several times.

Regina Brett’s 45 life lessons and 5 to grow on

As published in The Plain Dealer, Cleveland, Ohio, Sunday May 28, 2006. “To celebrate growing older, I once wrote the 45 lessons life taught me. It is the most-requested column I’ve ever written. My odometer rolls over to 50 this week, so here’s an update:”

*Note from Spice: My favorite part of this is the fact that a few years back someone changed Regina Brett’s bio tag to read her age was 90. They then attached a photo of a little old lady smoking a cigar and sent it into the webverse. People have been sending her notes congratulating her on making it to 90 ever since. Snopes.com has labeled her an official Urban Legend. Pretty cool.

Here’s the original list – it’s pretty good. I’ve seen a number of copies with “45 Lessons” in the title but only 32 lessons listed. After reading Regina’s original I discovered the ones pertaining to God are usually removed. They’re pretty important to me so I left them in for you guys to read… or not. Number 1 is my top pick for teens and number 40 is what I’d love to shout from Mount Sanitas for all of Boulder to hear. Number 25 is such an important reminder for all of us and of course number 18 is the one speaking directly to me these days…along with all of the others that don’t pertain to children.

Let me start by saying I am a parody junkie. Always have been and always will be. Especially when it comes to people/companies who take themselves waaaay too seriously…for no reason at all Brad Pitt’s Chanel #5 commercial just came to mind. Needless to say I’ve been an SNL junkie all my life. I came across this all time favorite and had to share the laugh.

I actually loved the Audrey Gap ad when it came out but the spoof by Andy Dick was one of the greatest of all times. Now keep and open mind here, remember this was pre-addict, pre-young-hollywood-molester, pre-psychotic-freak, Andy Dick. He was actually pretty hysterical at the time.

First the original with the lovely Audrey…

And now for the masterpiece!

Seldom do I let the language of idiots get to me (a change in recent years) but Rush’s latest comments followed by the GOP’s “That’s not how I would have said it” response has me flabbergasted by my fellowman. I’ve been trying to sum up my thoughts with regards to this happening a week prior to International Women’s Day but Jon Stewart beat me to the punch.

Vodpod videos no longer available.

How fabulous is the face slap?! I’m one of those Sophia Loren types who wants women to still be able to slap rude men across the face. Did I type that out loud? Ooops!  I absolutely love the guy’s shocked expression after she whacks the living daylights out of him for giving a double take on her long and lean tires… as if she was the most beautiful calculator he’d ever seen.

But seriously, who can blame him? Even I’m willing to admit that I can’t take my eyes off of this woman. Seeing her and the way she’s dressed has done more for my fitness resolutions then all of Rodney Yee’s Yoga tapes combined! And doesn’t it make so much more sense to have a High Fashion Italian Vixen in a Fiat commercial then JLo?

In all seriousness, from the casting to the script to the wardrobe to the look and feel of the entire spot, this is possibly an all time favorite for me!

Speaking of Italian Vixens, here’s a little O-mage (Homage) to the most beautiful woman on earth!
