For those of us who grew up blasting cassettes of Whitney’s love pop while stalking high school crushes in the old family station wagon, this is a very sad day.

As the original counselor of Girl Power, Whitney inspired us to love ourselves… and to wear white tank-tops with acid-wash jeans in an effort to attract the attention of crushes.  She was an amazing singer but what I most appreciate about Whitney is the fact that she looked hot using dance moves white girls could perfect. The “Jump and Clap” and “The Stop.. Now Walk The Other Way” were game changers that gave those of us without rhythm a little something to show off at the high school dances.
