Sky Lantern

Poor kids.

I on the other hand found inspiration to ignore today’s writing goals and do my best to capture the perfect image of deflated hopes and dreams…

I'm captioning "Azalea with Sky Lantern" just to see how many people are searching for this very combination on google.

I’m calling this “Azaleas with Expired Sky Lantern” just to see how many people are searching for this combination on google.

I was trying to make it fly so that you'd recognize what it was.

I took about 30 of these “floaty” attempts. I kept tossing it high in the air and then running around trying to get the perfect pic before it landed. I figured an action shot would help provide the first glance recognition of a sky lantern. You might not recognize the lantern at first glance but you would have definitely recognized an idiot hopping around her backyard.

I liked this one but I'm embarrassed by the condition of the grass... the HOA is working on this.

Another attempt at "floaty".

Another attempt at “floaty”.

I like this one too but it's wrong to imply that it landed right next to the door. (PS, the Southerner in me would like to share that porch has been scraped so that it can be painted next weekend.)

Here's a "real" photo of what's suppose to happen...maybe I should have added a tea light and waited til dark.PINGXI: People release sky lanterns ahead of the traditional Chinese Lantern Festival. reuters
